Summer Program

Learn a new language over summer break!

Open the door to opportunity

Learning a new language is the key to a world of opportunities for kids and teens. Not only will your child be exposed to a new language, but language lessons with Convo include cultural elements that enable them to more easily understand and accept other cultures and ideas, as well as create curiosity for travel and new experiences.

After completing our summer program, your child will have the skills to communicate in their new language as well as a broader cultural understanding. Our teams are ready to help open doors of opportunity for your child.

The Esprit approach

Our unique emphasis on conversation engages children and gets them talking from the very beginning, emphasizing authentic pronunciation and consistent participation. This encourages authentic verbal interaction throughout each session, both between students and the instructor, as well as with one another. Each lesson is interactive and full immersion, meaning that the teacher and students speak only in the target language.

Our class sizes typically only include 3-6 students, grouped by age and skill level so that classes can be most effective. This format helps students more easily engage with each other and the instructor and rapidly see results.

How does it work?

Your children will be grouped with other students their age, and the lessons will be tailored to that age group. Children in age groups 4-7 and 8-11 will start their lessons with a warm-up activity, such as a song or a sketch. Their lesson will progress as they learn new material taught through books and games such as I-Spy and Guess Who. The lesson closes with a fun activity that reviews the material.

Students ages 12-15 and 16-18 will start their lessons with a warm up discussion, talking about events from their day or previous evening. They will move on to learning from books and magazines like National Geographic and other in-language source material that appeals to the students' interests. There are conversations about current events and personal cultural experiences. Discussions on grammar and more conversation close out the session.

Why learn with Convo?

Curated content

We develop lesson plans and provide materials that are age-appropriate for the group, including lessons that embrace a global perspective. With each class, our instructors modify their lesson plans to fit the group of students to maximize learning potential.

Interactive lessons

Our unique approach emphasizes conversation, allowing students to grow their confidence in their new language, keeping them actively engaged. Students are encouraged to interact with their fellow students, improving their abilities to navigate a group setting and build social skills.

Native-fluent instructors

Our certified instructors are specially trained in teaching children and continually adapt their lessons around each group. Their native language skills provide a solid foundation for developing natural conversation, proper sentence structure and continued growth.
